RetailSonar opens its 4th European office in Germany

Since September 1, RetailSonar Germany has opened its doors at the Gänsemarkt in Hamburg. This new company is the fourth company in the group (next to entities in Belgium, France and The Netherlands). From these 4 countries we want to ease the distribution of our geomarketing solution towards the large international retail- and service companies across Europe.

The German retailmarket is ready for data driven investment decisions

„This is an important new step in our strategy to continue our growth path towards European leadership“, explains CEO Dieter Debels. „With 83 million inhabitants and many strong international brands like Aldi, Lidl, Edeka, REWE, Tchibo, Rossmann, EWE, ENBW, Telekom, Deutsche Bank und Würth this is a logical and exciting next step in our expansion plan. The last 2 years we have activated our German solution already for over 10 customers such as Sonova, TotalEnergies and Intratuin. This taught us that there is a big need in Germany for more data driven investment decisions in the store network.“

A joint venture with Bergmann & Partners, a location management reference in Germany

RetailSonar Germany is a joint venture between RetailSonar and Bergmann & Partners. Similar to RetailSonar, Bergmann & partners is also a fast growing company that supports many large retailers such as Eyes + More, Smyths Toys, Rusta and Swiss Sense in their expansion- and lease-management. Thomas Bergmann, partner and founder of B&P, emphasizes the importance of this partnership: "We understand the needs of retailers in Germany and know what’s the added value of RetailSonar's geomarketing platform for them. Thus, we can support the realization of RetailSonar goals in the German market. Our business activities are also perfectly complementary and together with our own lease contract management software Cimplify and our strategic services we can provide a very complete proposition to the market.“

With Jascha Metin as the new commercial director in Germany

Since the end of August, Jascha Metin has started within the company as responsible for the German business. Dieter Debels explains that the search for a good local director took more than 6 months. „We were looking for somebody with experience in retail, business development, geomarketing and if possible in the SaaS and AI environmentWe are sure that we have found exactly this profile in Jascha and are glad to have convinced him of RetailSonar. But also for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit to manage the company towards growth. He made an excellent start and will definitely become a key pillar in our successful entry into Europe's largest market."

“RetailSonar already has been proven by more than 150 customers in several  industries”

90% accurate revenue predictions based on data and AI are unseen in Germany

Jascha is excited about his new challenge: „In my previous job at Gfk, I discovered the power of geomarketing. However, the proposition by German players in that market was mainly limited to mapping data. Users are often left alone to interpret data correctly and derive actionable insights. Moreover, the GIS solutions are made for professionals, but not for the target group of classic Real Estate, Marketers or Sales.

What I saw during my first contact with RetailSonar opened my eyes. The AI skills to make 90% accurate revenue predictions for future location decisions are revolutionary in this field. And the fact that this has been proven in the meantime for more than 150 large customers in every industry, gives us a solid position in the market.

In addition, the platform is user-friendly for all target groups. All customers receive an individual platform based on their individual business case. Our customer satisfaction confirms all this: with a value of 9.2 (measured by Net Promoter Score).

The integration with my international colleagues at RetailSonar and Bergmann & Partners also went very well so far. All this made me decide to join RetailSonar and I'm sure I won't be the only one: We are going to disrupt the German market and we are on a mission to succeed..."
