What is - in your own words - your role at RetailSonar? 
My role is to make sure all the great work of our colleagues sees the light of day! We have such a strong platform, so it would be a shame if not everyone could benefit from it in their location strategy.

What did you do before working at RetailSonar?
I worked in a B2B and B2C environment, at Jacobs Douwe Egberts, as Digital Marketeer.

How did you end up at RetailSonar?
I was looking for an environment in which I could have more impact, without navigating global decision structures and slow processes to get things done. Besides, I wanted to enter the IT and AI environment. RetailSonar immediately seemed interesting in all aspects!

What is your first impression of our company?
Very positive! I got a very warm welcome, got involved in multiple activities directly and immediately felt there were more than enough challenges to tackle. I like the fast paced environment, in which you can take immediate action on ideas and issues that you face.

What do you see as the biggest challenge in your work?
Defining priorities and setting up a clear structure for all current activities. There is so much that the team is doing, and we have incredible content and insights, but the challenge is now to get it out there.

Any fun facts we need to know about you?
I disguise very well that I’m actually a big geek (Gaming, Superhero movies, Star Wars, Dungeons & Dragons,..) and that I walk, talk and act like an extravert but I’m actually a social introvert. (laughs)

What is your favorite quote?
“You’ll always miss if you never make the shot”

What is the best way to work with you?
Be direct, but with a smile 😉 I appreciate a compliment but also constructive feedback.

 HR Manager

What is - in your own words - your role at RetailSonar?
As an HR Manager, I take on the responsibility of all HR related matters. We are a fast growing, international company and although many HR related topics were already put in place before my arrival, it is now time to make sure all processes are scalable and future proof. 

What did you do before working at RetailSonar?
I worked as a HR Manager for another tech start-up. They were not as advanced yet as RetailSonar is, but also faced the challenge to get HR higher on the agenda.

How did you end up at RetailSonar?
Years ago, I already supported RetailSonar in their recruitment and I always remembered it as a very interesting company with an amazing product and a strong team. When I discovered they had an open position for an HR Manager, I reached out to them, and from that point on, things moved very quickly, as they tend to do at RetailSonar. (laughs)

What is your first impression of our company?
Amazing team and culture, very impressive software and a fast paced environment.  

What do you see as the biggest challenge in your work
Internationalization is always a challenge. We place great importance on connectivity across teams, which is a challenge when colleagues are located in different countries. Luckily, our offices are not that far, so we can easily arrange visits.

Any fun facts we need to know about you? 
I spent 2014-2016 in Brazil and my husband is Brazilian, so if you like to speak Portuguese, you can practice with me!😉

What are your biggest achievements so far?
Last year I ran my first half marathon. This year, I ran the Ghent Ten Miles with the RetailSonar team, which was great!
